IALA members are encouraged to leverage the IMT family’s potential to modernize AtoN operations, including VTS, and address emerging challenges. The latest IMO MSC decisions emphasize the importance of providing global IP-based connectivity to fully realize the capabilities of the S-100 ECDIS framework, including the implementation of “Maritime Services in the context of e-Navigation.”

The International Organisation for Marine Aids-to-Navigation (IALA) in association with the Irish Lights, Dublin, Ireland is hosting the Workshop on Sustainability in AtoN provision, to be held in Dublin, Ireland, from 6 to 10 October 2025.

IALA WWA and Singapore MPA will co-host the seminar to adress the roles of the digitalization and implementation of Marine Aids to Navigation (AtoN) services in facilitating navigational safety. This event will explore the latest advancements in digital navigation technologies and their critical role in enhancing maritime safety.

Maritime Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), Japan Coast Guard (JCG) and IALA World-Wide Academy will be co-hosting the VHF Data Exchange System (VDES) seminar to promote the use of VDES by sharing the current progress, best practices, regional use cases and a live demonstration on the VDES capabilities the 17 February 2025

IALA, in association with the Italian Coast Guard, is hosting a workshop in Rome, Italy between 20 – 24 January 2025, to support and contribute to the development of guidance to assist competent authorities for VTS to meet their international obligations for establishing and operating VTS.

1st General Assembly

The 1st General Assembly of the International Organization for Marine Aids to Navigation will be held from 18 to 21 February 2025 in Singapore. It will be preceeded by 2 World-Wide Academy Seminars and the Affiliate Industrial members General Assembly on Monday 17 February 2025.

La segunda reunión regional Latinoamericana dedicado a las Ayudas a la Navegación Marítima tendrá lugar del 21 al 23 de mayo 2025 en Buenos Aires, organizado conjuntamente con la Academia Mundial de la Organización Internacional de Ayudas a la Navegación Marítima (IALA WWA) y Argentina como Estado Miembro de IALA, representada por el Servicio de Hidrografía Naval (SHN) y la Academia Hidrovía de Capacitación en Ayudas a la Navegación.
